Unchecked Power is an organization headquartered in New York City. Our mission is to expose incidents of unchecked power within our government offices and court system. We will ensure that empowered and funded government and court offices are run with integrity for the sake of the public and the administration of justice.
The New York State Unified Court System has conspicuously stated that its mission is as follows:
“…to provide the public with a judicial forum for the just and timely resolution of disputes. It is inherent in this obligation to ensure that court users have ease of access to court-related information processes. It is the responsibility of all court system personnel to fulfill the public’s right to fair and efficient justice with dignity, professionalism, and courtesy.”
Throughout the United States, each state espouses similar stated missions, as do our government offices. In consideration of these pledges the public has provided enormous power and funding to these offices.
Gregory Roberts and Susan Settenbrino have joined forces to create this organization, because the courts and the government offices have failed to abide by their stated missions, resulting in a dangerous system that is run without meaningful oversight, transparency, and accountability, to the detriment of the public and the administration of justice. We as a nation have lost faith and confidence in our government and our judiciary. A just government and court system is the foundation of a just society.
We will work tirelessly with the public, attorneys, judges, politicians, and all branches of government and law enforcement to educate and ensure that our mission is fully realized city by city, county by county, and state by state. We will employ every means of access, including but not limited to, congressional hearings, public forums, and media relations, until our mission, which is your mission, is fully accomplished.
